Hard Drive Help (Quick Question)

I am planning to buy a hard drive enclosure so i can remove my work PC's hard drive and be able to transport it to and from home.

Will there be any problems when i bring the hard drive back to work and boot up the computer through the usb connection?

Also, when i bring the harddrive home, is it possible to boot up the PC as if the harddrive from work is the primary?

Don't do it that way.

Get a USB 2.5" drive and copy the files over and take that with you. You don't want to be carrying your only copy of the data around.

It's not possible to boot up in the way you want since the hardware is totally different. Unless your home pc and work pc are exactly the same. Still not recommended though.

The only problem is that i am trying to work with a program called Quickbooks at home..
but Quickbooks only allows 1 registered user per serial key, so i cannot install this program at home. I've tried all sorts of method but cant get around it, unless i buy a brand new copy (which i dont want to do)

Or even something like LogMeIn would work. As long as your work computer is on and connected to the internet, it'll work great.

Remote desktop is the key then. You don't want to be messing with licenses especially when it's related to work.

either that, or run a virtual machine stored on the external drive, and move that around.
