GoPro Lens Scratched

I scratched the lens on the actual GoPro camera (not the protective case). I saw people fixing it on Youtube with headlight restorer. Has anyone tried this before? Should I attempt this?

it depends how deep the scratch is.

It's just deep enough that you can feel it with your nail.

ouch... Not a clue how to fix it as I havnt really looked into replacing it other then the lens cover on the case itself. interested in what you find out for fixing it as a new one would suck money wise

toothpaste

pb.kidz 02-16-2012 12:00 AM

you can buy a new lens and replace it ur self

[RSX-S] 02-25-2012 12:37 AM

Where? The only replacement lens I've seen is for the protective casing.

Headlight restorer is worth a shot...maybe try to buffer it out... Toothpaste doesn't work that well....

there is anti-reflective coating on the go pro lens. any type of headlight restoring or whatnot will remove the coating.

GoPro Lens Replacement Kit : Sport/Outdoor Accessories - Best Buy Canada

bestbuy's gopro lens replacement kit. went to metro's bestbuy, and i think they dont carry these in stores. but can order online.

Prolowtone 02-25-2012 08:54 PM

Thats for the protective case, not the actual camera itself

!Aznboi128 02-25-2012 09:45 PM

if the nail catches then any sort of lens remover wont work

I would try emailing go-pro see what they offer
