Acer Laptop problem (virus)

Hey guys, i'm a noob at computer stuff so bear with me here: It looks like my laptop has gotten affected by some malware virus? i cannot even get it to start now !
-It will load up the "starting windows" screen and then a message will appear and say that "an error has occured and set up will continue after being restarted"

-This just keeps on happening over and over again and i cannot even get to the desktop part or the part where you enter your password to login

My question is: should i buy a new hard drive from NCIX and it'll be all good?
-i don't have anything impt stuff on my laptop so i dunt mind all the information and work to be gone.
-This way i can save some $ from buying a new laptop right? (laptop is 2010 Acer travelmate model)
-So say i buy a new harddrive, am i free from virus infection for now or will the virus still be in the comp eventhough i replaced the harddrive?

Any advices? any input would be ok.

Should i go ahead and buy a new harddrive? NCIX told me to bring it in so they can have a look at whats wrong and give me advices on what i should do.

Thanks in advance and any inputs will be rewarded with a "thanks" by me

Lets hear it guys !

Boot your computer into safe mode then run some antivirus.

A good one would be malwarebytes.

^^ if you can't get rid of it, try reformatting to factory settings.

There should be a partition on the HD that acts solely as a recovery tool. Read the manual on how to access the recovery tool. Usually you just spam a button (eg. F10) upon turning the computer on.

^^ I think its F10 or Alt + F10

just reboot with a windows USB stick or DVD, and do new install.

safe mode - run - msconfig - remove this virus from the start up - reboot
