power doors and windows hello everyone. had a question about power window and lock integration on my 92 EG hatchback. i was wondering if i bought a universal motor and track system could it be wired up somehow to oem switches and work? currently i have a compustar alarm system and was considering on upgrading to alarm and remote start but could the actuator be wired somehow to OEM lock/unlock as well as lock when the engine is running for a minute? (hopefully that makes sense.lol). i have not seen a power window/lock conversion for a while now but when i do they are super expensive so was looking for a cheaper but OEM looking alternative. any insight would be great.thanks. |
Adapting power windows into your car is a time consuming project (expect 2-3 hours per door). The locks are about 45 minutes per door. They can both be controlled through your Compustar easily. |
i wouldnt mind putting in the time. the compustar system could control windows? |
PIMP MY RIDE had windows that were controlled by a snap of a finger :) |

^but how would that work in terms of control within the car? OEM switches? or off the compustar remote itself? |

what would i need in terms of materials? im still a little bit as to how its integrated with the compustar system...would it be possible to get an explaination as to what would happen once i push down on the OEM switch to open the window in terms of what will turn on, where power goes etc etc?thanks for all the help so far:) |
Wanna come by the shop? We can show/tell you everything there! |
k thanks everyone with the help. ^ill try to drop by sometime this week. thanks! :) |
you can get an actuator for around $15. As for windows, you would be looking into a dei 530t window module. All will work off of firstech equipment |
