Weird Flash on No.3 Road and Westminster
 

Anyone notice a weird flash when going through the intersection of Westminster and No. 3 road in richmond?

I went through at 8:30pm on a green light..and then saw a weird flash on to the side of my car...

only thing I can think of is speed camera...but I was only at 60ish..

just wondering if anyone knows anything abt it...if i get ticketed..guess its my bad day =[

Drove past at 8:45 there were no speed cameras around. Maybe somebody was taking a picture outside?

^omg hahah....dunno..cos I saw numerous flashes when heading on westminster before turning right on 3 road...was thinking it was weird..

then got the flash to side of my car when i was on 3 road going past westminster....

Drive by that intersection every day and i was there twice couple of hours ago. I never noticed any flashes :S

Maybe it was a right turn car? I noticed before at some intersections the red light camera would flash when a car turned right...like 33rd/knight. Haven't seen it again though..

Probably someone taking a picture like LP700 said, or a malfunction with a red light cam... ive had a simular thing happen a few times and never got a ticket so you should be ok

I've seen the red light cameras at that intersection specifically go off incorrectly when both lanes were turning left. You're not going to get ticketed if the camera was accidentally tripped off.

Its most likely the Canada Line. As it switches on a different section of power rail, sometimes there could be a small flash.

well...if i get a ticket I'll know!..if not..count myself lucky..

but I hate the yellow light situations at that intersection...thats why i tried to beat the stale green..

off topic, wtf is that giant black pizza box thing facing westbound on the Garden city and Lansdowne Rd?

Its a red light camera. they recently installed a few all over richmond

It's a sign saying there's a pedestrian crossing. It lights up when a pedestrian presses the walk button; saw it once at night. Really useful, alerts drivers turning left onto garden city from lansdowne there's someone walking....especially on a rainy night.

+1 yes, that crosswalk was pretty sketch.
