| Aerial photos of port mann + extras around vancouver
These photos were shared at work today. Taken from above, a nice perspective of projects (especially the port mann). Just thought I'd share.
Almost!
By IKEA coquitlam, gives you an idea how wide the new highway will be

No problem, I'm passing it twice a day as well but barely pay attention to it as I'm usually concentrating on the driving haha.

What a logistical nightmare it must have been trying to figure out how to keep the highway (mostly) operational while constructing an entirely new, er..., highway. I don't say this very often but I'm sure the guys in charge of all of that have earned their pay.
Good photos of all the work being done. It's alwas neat seeing things from a different perspective, especially when it's this big.

It's alwas neat seeing things from a different perspective, especially when it's this big. | Lots of props goes to the people working on highway one right now. too many people give them shit for standing around or taking 4 years. Those people don't realize how much of a headache it is to build a road while keeping the current one open. you gotta do 90% of the paving at night and you can barely ever work in the rain, and you can only do certain sections before closing off other sections so you can work on them. If they could shut down the entire highway they could have had all the work done(excluding the bridge) in a year with their current work force.

Well, they could. And being a command state certainly helps that cause. Gets shit done.

In the other thread, someone mentioned that it doesn't look like a 10 lane bridge deck.
From the air? Totally dwarfs the PM bridge.
oh! And who do I need to talk to for naming the new bridge with the portmanteau of port mann two?
(yes, I know thats not what the word actually means)
