Need help with connection problem

My computer is connected directly to my modem but if I leave my computer on for a few hours it will disconnect. When I pull up the network it shows that everything is connected and running properly but I still can't connect to a website. Once I restart my computer it works again and the cycle repeats after a few hours.

I've set up a wireless network and the same issues still exist. I've reset my network adapter, still no good and I've used windows diagnose and repair and it says "a problem still exists that windows cannot repair" LOL I know.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

1. disable "let the modem sleep" in advanced power options
2. update drivers

as stated above, its the power saving feature of the modem found in the device manager

sometimes bittorrent can mess up your router/modem especially older ones. then it requires you to reset/unplug modem.
