Dota2 System Requirements

Don't know much about computers, but ive been wanting to play Dota2 for so long. I have an beta account but my computer sucks and I dont know much about computers.

DOTA 2 Official System Requirements - DotA 2 news, blog, community and forum

How good is the minimum requirements listed above in the link in terms of gameplay and graphics and fps

and how good is the recommended requirements? is there more outstanding gfx cards / upgrades I can possibly do?

My computer currently is running on;

any suggestions on what would be a good upgrade / price range with links from NCIX or something, or a whole new computer? Budget $300-400?500?

Minimum = able to run it
Recommended = able to run it some what smoothly

I doubt you would be able to enjoy the game at minimun..

New video card and maybe 2 more gb of ram??!?!??!?!

you need at least a 8800GT or 9800GT card for minimum by the looks of Dota 2's graphics.. go buy a 9800gt for 40 bucks on craigslist

currently playing the beta on a laptop with these specs:

Quote:

Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 @ 2.26Ghz
Memory: 4GB PC2-6400 DDR2-800
Video Card: ATi Mobility Radeon HD 3470
OS: Windows 7 Pro x64
i play everything on low and it runs smoothly with the exception of when the hero "Alchemist" throws his big green poison cloud. when that happens my game lags a big until i shift my camera away from the cloud of smoke. sucks for team fights but its a good thing Alchemist is rarely picked in matchmaking haha

they do daily draws and give out like 180 keys every day here: http://www.playdota.com/forums/showthread.php?t=549077

i got my first key by trading things through steam with people. i would see what they wanted in something like a "dota2 general thread" on like 4chan's /v/ page and if i had it then i'd let them know and we'd trade. lucky for me i had a copy of magicka from when it was dirt cheap and someone was looking for a copy

how do you like it compared to the current wc3 dota? are they the same heros?

You shoukd just spend 150 and buy a new gtx 460 is what i have now. It runs every game perfefrly on 1080 p. Get the 1 gigabyte version. Better buying new than a used card. It might brrak down like mpst friends of mine who buy from craigslist

Make sure u ur computer power supply can handle the new card first otherwise you'll have to spend a extra 50-80 to buy like a 500-700 watt supply
