Windows boot issue I have done a search and no luck yet. I am running Windows XP and I am stuck in the boot sequence. It won't even boot into Windows. I have tried a system restore and booting up from a Windows XP disc to do a repair. All I want is my data on my sat drive. |
If anyone has a computer problem the best piece of info to help solve the problem is the exact error message shown on the screen. From the info you have given, it not possible to deduce whether you have a BIOS, hard drive or Windows problem. If all you want is info on the hard drive, install your hard drive in another computer as an additional drive and copy the data off. Pretty well every computer problem solution is on the internet already. You just need to figure out the best google search term to enter. |
I would use a second computer to build a bootable Ubuntu either with a CD or a USB key. Make sure you select LIVE CD so it won't install anything on your hard drive. It'll let you boot up with another OS and drag your files to a USB drive to save your stuff. Guide for CD. You can probably google to see how you make Ubuntu boot from USB key. Just pull your drive out, ask a friend and plug your drive in to their computer. |
disable automatic restart in boot sequence you will see a blue screen with an error that caused the problem it will look like that: 0x000000008e (xxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxx xxxxxxxx) |
Thanks for all the info. guys. Glad I posted here. Thanks especially to mos skeeto because I got all my data back! |
