Doesn't it still have to be approved by RIM first?

If RIM thinks they can convince software developers to work with their most unfriendly SDK for a 200 dollar tablet, think again.

Converting an android app is as easy as just a few clicks from what I've heard.

You don't need to develop using their SDK they've given 3 different options to develop on.

I'll probably try and whip something up this weekend. Might experiment with an HTML5 front end. Been doing a lot of java and server back end stuff would be nice to take a break from it and do some front end.

Exactly. My time is worth too much to waste it trying to get an App approved when I could buy a Playbook for dirt cheap.

For one they have the android SDK now. and yes html5, css, JS is possible with PhoneGap. That might be the route i choose. Plus with phonegap, it could port to iPhone easily too supposedly

ive been wanting to dev an app for the the sake of it really. having a tablet at the end of it is a nice bonus of course too

trancehead 02-13-2012 01:29 AM

my app if finished! signed my app and everything. just need for my registration as a vendor to go through...which i should have done earlier. wasnt aware there would be a backlog

as for development, used html5ish front end, JS and web sql backend. first time using web sql...its not too bad

anyone else manage to shit an app out?
