This adorable 3 - 4 year old male Pembroke Welsh Corgie came into the shelter today as a stray.
We have located his owner who wants to surrender him. His eye is an old injury where he was
hit by a car..He is a really cute little guy!
Waiting for the shelter to get word back from the vet on his overall condition... if that goes well, next step will be taking the Mini-Mutts out to meet him and see how they all get along

Well, after a full week at the vet, it turns out that Elmo's problems are worse than they thought: the accident that took his eye also left him with pelvic and possibly nerve damage that they figure resulted in... well, without going into details, he can't poop properly and will probably require special ongoing care and meds that run up to $100/mo, for the rest of his life.

So he'll be going to a forever home with someone that can provide the special attention he needs, probably with a vet. Which is good to hear, as they say he's very loving and playful and aside from some pain and a little crying when he needs to poop, is still in great mental and physical condition. I'd hoped I might at least get to meet him first... *sigh*

They're going to keep my application on file anyway...
