iOS (i.e. iPad) development on windows? Anyone know any good free sdks? I checked out Marmalade/Airplay and DragonFire but they are no longer free I dont have a mac, should I just buy OS X for $30 and dual boot mac + windows on my PC so I can run XCode? |
OSX on PC? Really? |
Buy a Mac. Seriously, if you're going to do actual development the price of a Mac is going to be the least of your expenses. |
Definitely worth it to invest in a Mac if you're going to develop. Saves you the headache and troubles. There are some free code once deploy to all platforms but I don't remember all of them. There's PhoneGap but there was also one more that also had an HTML5 front end but a rails back end. |
Look for a used Mac on Craigslist. Perhaps a Mac Mini. |
even a refurb is a good deal: Refurbished Mac mini 2.3GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 - Apple Store (Canada) |
:okay: thanks guys |
I do iPhone development and bought a mac. Haven't had any regrets. Let me know if you have any questions. |
We should start a fund to buy RS a Mac Mini so we can get the iphone app published :lol |
