Edit; Damn i'm away for the seattle one.

You finish the race regardless but at the end you have to go through the "dead" or "alive" gate so you don't know how people are actually alive at the end. There were a LOT of flags on the ground around some of those places.

I don't think there is anything wrong with having too many survivors. Maybe they want everyone to have a good time and also feel like a winner as well?

But, I think three/four flags is too much. Maybe if they limit it to two flags it will save them some money on medals.
