I took mine with silvercore. Took the course that was with the restricted as well. Simple of you're not an idiot. Instructors were knowledgeable and helpful.

A friend of mine works at Silvercore teaching the courses. He's a little gun nutty and knows his stuff.

TekDragon 02-16-2012 10:54 AM

Challenged it, but through Silvercore as well.

I didn't go to Silvercore but I know someone who just did it this past January. She went from knowing nothing about guns to having a decent level of knowledge and passing the test without much effort.

I'd recommend them as they're in an easy(ish) to find location & you can join their gun club at a discounted rate if you take the PAL through them.

Prices are pretty standard so don't expect to find any place offering the course significantly cheaper than any of the others.

When I was looking into programs for my friend, this was a close #2. This is where I personally would've gone had I known about it. It looks like a pretty good experience.

Silvercore Advanced Training Systems provides a unique system for the CFSC and CRFSC course. Most training companies provide a separate course for the non-restricted and restricted portions of the curriculum.

This is probably the best place to go, I am going to sign up to this soon.

A friend of mine hired a private guy to teach me and a few of my friends the course. We actually did it today in my basement and are doing review and test tomorrow. He's charging $150 for the course and he seems pretty knowledgeable.

+1 silvercore. having a course that included both restricted and non restrictive instruction made it very convenient, esp. if you dont know what you want to buy.

instructor was sonet. she was cool and her teaching was straight forward and intuitive.
