Lombardo's Pizzeria & Ristorante. Commercial and 1st in the building. Although it is a Pizzeria, they have pasta as well. |
Al Porto in Gastown. |
La Quercia on West 4th ($$$) Cibo Trattoria in Downtown ($$$) Either Campagnolo on Main Street or Campagnolo Roma on Hastings. ($$) If you want something for lunch and you're in Point Grey, highly suggest going to La Ghianda. |
Arriva Ristorante on commercial drive. Best spaghetti and meatballs. |

Via Veneto is one of my favourite places to go. Via Veneto - Ristorante Italiano Their lobster pasta cannot be beat - 1.5 pound lobster on a bed of spaghetti, $50, but so worth it! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...I/IMG_2141.jpg I also like Rosa's in Port Moody. Rosa's Cucina Italiana |

Sandbar has an amazing linguine vongole. Unfortunately, the rest of the food sucks. |
Avoid Da Mario's at all costs Service is horrble, their food tatses like crap, I didnt get asked once how my food was and they messed up my gf's order twice Its always dead in there and its for a reason L'artista isent too bad besides Antons, I would suggest Amorosa Amorosa Pasta House - Burnaby Cariboo-Lougheed - Burnaby | Urbanspoon |

Was it just a steamed lobster on spaghetti bolognese? Or did they do something else to the sauce? |

Rosa is a small restaurant but serves amazing pasta. I like their Cannelloni. I think they are closed for summer holidays.. so might want to call ahead. Rosa's Cucina Italiana |
^ Not trying to discredit your suggestion but there are a lot of conflicting reviews of Rosa's Cucina. I'll give it a try one day though! :) |
I can see potential issues: 1. The restaurant is small I think about 10 tables? 2. There are only 2 servers, the owner and the niece. 3. The menu is only a 2 pager in rather old and ratty plastic covers. The wait can get long. For the price 15-20 is about the same price as other joints in town. I can see people who are used to the "Yaletown" experience would be disappointed.. but for honest food it is good. Quote:

I think this place is closed. Via Veneto - Fairview - Vancouver | Urbanspoon Quote:

Thanks for clarifying that. I'll give this place a go sometime this month. :) |
I would suggest going later if you don't want to wait.. it will be much cooler too because I don't think they even have AC.. we went around 7:30-8PM and there were some seats. As for the wait.. it gets a whole heck lot shorter when you have good company ;) Quote:

ANTONS IS AMAZING :) GOGOG GO PRICE AND SIZE |
^ :seriously: |
I used to cook at campagnolo. I usually worked on the pans doing the pastas on the line, so obviously its not as good anymore. But seriously, La quercia, and la ghianda are probably the best pasta you can find in town. Adam and Lucias are some of the most talented chefs in the city. La Buca is rad, if you manage to roam down to whistler at any point check out pasta lupino. Amazing food at the most amazing price ever. |
sorry i went to italian tomato back in 2008 and it sucked os bad, i had to dig up what i typed. please do a search of italian tomato... it's SHITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT i gave them like a 1/10 they freaking suckkkkkkkkkkk cliff notes: $16.75 for clam and shrimp pasta (HUGE AMERICAN portion) but drenched in fat clams were the ones they put in CHUCKY's soup, and the shrimp were LITERALLY SMALLER than a JELLY BELLY bean. CRAPPY place to go to. |
