Do I need 0 gauge wire? I have a question about 0 gauge wire. If I replace my 4 gauge with 0 gauge, will my amp current be greater? I used 0 gauge in my previous car & It did sound like it had a bit more thump. Running the following (1)Pioneer deh p4200ub (1)Rockford p1000-1bd @ 2 ohm 700rms (2)Kaption spl1200 DVC dual 2ohm subs - wired in series (1)Sealed sub box |
you won't need 0 gauge for 500 watts. Don't waste the time/money. unless you are plannign on upgrading big time. |
I already have the 0 gauge kit from my old car, my current car came pre wired. |
Even 8 gauge is fine for 500 watts rms.... 4 gauge is a little much... 0 is totally unnecessary |
it's actually 700rms. I guess ill just leave it then. Thanks |
4 gauge is more then enough :) and np |
You could take your 0 guage and use it under the hood for your big three ground/alternator upgrade. It may be a bit overkill but it will help with any light dimming and/or power issues. |
