TV not working, any repair shops you guys suggest?

So my tv all of a sudden stopped working.
when i turn the tv on, the screen sort of lights up, but remains black/greyish while the audio plays.
i tried changing the input, changing the hdmi plug in into different plug ins, and unplugging the tv and replugging it, so far nothing has worked.
the tv is not super old, its a LG 42LH90 LED flatscreen......

not sure if i will need to bring it to a repair place, if so anyplace you guys recommend?
i live in Richmond, so I prefer somewhere close by.

Thanks in advance

phone LG first of all, and see where that gets you as far as warranty and such

your looking at a repair costs of $50 a hour plus parts if they can fix it. Might be better just to throw it and get a new one.

I doubt if any storefront business can work for $50/hr. I was at the Ducati dealership and I saw a sign for $105/hr. Some places will charge you for an estimate as well.

LG service center should have the right parts and the right man to do it, it is a waste of time going to bridgeport TV, they would go to the same place and charge you double. Never believe they have the tools and skills to fix all TV, you don't want your TV catch on fire and burn your house down.

My 4yrs old LCD TV screen blacked out 3 weeks ago, called up the service center guy. He replaced a module within 20 minutes, the bill was only $150 and I get 6 month warranty.

well not all repair place are bad.. the one i used to work for global electronic they'll pretty good and pretty much fix everything and also gives 3 month warranty on their work.they are also an authorized repair center for stuff like panasonic vtech etc. We'd get crap dumped over to us from futureshop and LD occasionally too. estimate is free if you decide to go ahead with the repair. too bad it's located in coquitlam so it's kinda far.

In high school i did a work experience at Brighouse TV on alderbridge and no.3. This was at the time when HDTV's were a new thing and they were still repairing CRT TV's

if its not under warranty its time for a new one... not to say its old its just that parts/labour is exxxxpensive

unless you can DIY it its not worth it

you can call LG and buy an extended warranty. Just don't tell them you broke it already =)
