how forza 4 gets its cars The ladies and gentlemen at Turn 10, the studio behind Forza Motorsport 4, take their cars just as seriously as their gaming. They're not the only gamers to invest heaps of time rendering metal into pixels, but you might be surprised just how much travel, how many microphones, how long on the dyno and what kinds of owners go into gathering the selection of rides. If you've wondered what goes into taking a Bugatti Veyron, or even a Honda Civic Si, from the parking lot to the game's custom Bernese Alps track, then there's a video just for you after the jump. http://ca.autoblog.com/2012/02/21/ho...gets-its-cars/ pretty neat, hope its not a repost http://www.viddler.com/v/76aae3db |
Haha and meanwhile in GT5, every car sounds the same. |
those guys at turn10 have the best jobs in the world :high: |

Best job ever! (until you go into the studio and turn all of that into computer language) |

No seriously, Forza>GT5 in everything except for graphics, which i think GT5 has the edge on. |
^GT physics is much better as well Gran Turismo is the pioneer for bringing sim racing to the masses/consoles but Turn 10's achievement over the past few years is incredible...you can tell they are much better managed than Polyphony Digital |
This is only reason i would take a xbox over a ps3. |
if only on pc :okay: |

GT5 was the reason that I lined up for 13 hours and paid a friend to wait in line for 22 hours for a launch PS3. ...and to flip one of course... :troll: (for the record, I only ended up getting my hands on 1). Anyways, when GT5 finally came out, I ended up playing it for about 2 hours total since the overall gameplay experience was so bland. The racing itself is great but it felt like there was no improvement in the overall structure of the game from the previous one, where the guys at Turn 10 have made leaps and bounds for the Forza series. Features like the marketplace and all of the great tuning options always make me come back for more in Forza but I just don't see that value in GT5. The game was in production for so long and was so expensive but I honestly don't see where that time and money went. |
I wonder if they get paid a lot.. man, I would volunteer for that job! |

forza owns all |
I bought an xbox just for Forza...been playing since Forza 2! Love racing online against 15 other players. Gran Turismo has the better graphics cause of the PS3 but everything else Forza does better. |

I've converted many GT5/PS3 fanboys to FM4/Xbox fanboys. Xbox 360 > PS3 GT5 biggest disappointment in video games for me personally. Turn 10 keep of the good work |
agree with the BOTH of you! IMO, in a nutshell, GT5 could really have been GT2 with better graphics for all I cared. I also enjoyed putting in a "computer performance chip" in my carb'd muscle car in GT5.. Quote:

as mentioned above most cars in gran turismo sound like a vaccume cleaner or something from windows 98 lol .... i was so disappointed when GT5 came out and the cars still sounded like shit. To me sound effects are really important for car games, completes the atmosphere of the game to me... i haven't played forza since i dont got a xbox and my computer sucks ass, some day i will though :accepted: Need for speed shift 2 unleashed has some pretty good sound effects i found though, the graphics are pretty impressive too for the interior view. I didn't really get that much into the storymode / game tho.. cut scenes were annoying as hell and you cant skip them.. its like torture lol. |
