last few times I've been it's only been around 15c/L my cars only use 30-40L so its not really worthwhile unless I bring a jerry can but even then Point Roberts gas prices are not like the rest of the states. Not worth the hassle of crossing the border for me.

Lol, I can't believe News1130 bothered asking people how they felt about gas prices going up...

Yeah, but out of the 11 years that I've been working in river road in Delta, I've only been late only once because of the traffic. So honesty its nice to know how reliable our transit system is, but I'm not taking any chances. Guess the one time your dad got stuck was because of this.......
Metro Vancouver plagued by Skytrain system failures

I would like to use transit more often. I've lived in Japan where I never once even thought of using a car. Also New York. The problem is that Vancouver's system is unreliable, and the skytrain doesn't have proper rooms for bikes and the whole system is pieces just put together so often too many transfers have to occur. Last week I was biking in Port Moody and wanted to catch a bus home. I texted the bus stop number and got no response at all. What does that mean? That the service is over for the evening? Who knows. I was also biking in Burnaby and got yelled at by a bus driver because loading a bike takes 2 minutes out of his schedule and he says he doesn't have time for it. Oh, I've also been told by a bus driver that I shouldn't go by the schedule I get on Translink because it's not accurate - so don't be surprised if I miss the bus because it's early.

Touted as most advanced transportation system in the world, until you travel to large cities like Montreal & Toronto and experience theirs. When I lived in Burnaby I found it a cute little system but good for using to go one or two stops but not reliable for mass transit.

It doesn't matter how much they raise gas prices. We'll all have to bend over and accept it.

Pretty much, "Shut up and take my money!!!".

My other brother would take his boat down as the tank would take about 300L of premium, it had a Vortech supercharged 8.1L V8. If some of you go boating, marine gas stations sell gas something like 25 cents more than a car gas station. Saved about $100~$170 depending on where he fueled up in Canada.

Fisker Automotive, this car has a gas engine to charge the electric motor when needed. I'd buy this.

Gas experts say prices could jump 40 cents more due to world political issues and oil refinery closures.

Vancouver drivers News1130 spoke to are not happy with yesterday's announcement.

"I think it's ridiculous and I don't want to pay that," criticizes one woman.

This man concedes it's an inevitability, "I think it's really encouraging people to switch over to hybrids.$ It's unfortunate but it's by-product of supply and demand and everybody needs it so prices are going to go up no matter what."

The price of gas on the Lower Mainland is about $1.34/litre.

At $1.75/L, that means, the 14 dollar baller will be able to buy EXACTLY 8L of gas for one hour of work!

A dump body would make it so versatile

Even gas in Abbotsford is cheaper. I believe they are out of the highly taxed region. Not 100% sure, but I think Abbotsford is not part of the GVRD.

Hehe all you guys jumping on the electic sportscar bandwagon?

Tesla Motors' Devastating Design Problem

Quote:
Tesla Motors' lineup of all-electric vehicles — its existing Roadster, almost certainly its impending Model S, and possibly its future Model X — apparently suffer from a severe limitation that can largely destroy the value of the vehicle. If the battery is ever totally discharged, the owner is left with what Tesla describes as a "brick": a completely immobile vehicle that cannot be started or even pushed down the street. The only known remedy is for the owner to pay Tesla approximately $40,000 to replace the entire battery. Unlike practically every other modern car problem, neither Tesla's warranty nor typical car insurance policies provide any protection from this major financial loss. Here's how it happens.

The 340th Tesla Roadster produced went to a customer in Santa Barbara, California. In 2011, he took his Roadster out for a drive and then parked it in a temporary garage while his home was being renovated. Lacking a built-in Tesla charger or a convenient power outlet, he left the car unplugged. Six weeks later his car was dead. It took four men two hours to drag the 2,700-pound Roadster onto a flatbed truck so that it could be shipped to Tesla's Los Angeles area service center, all at the owner's expense. A service manager then informed him that "it's a brick" and that the battery would cost approximately $40,000 to replace. He was further told that this was a special "friends and family" price, strongly implying that Tesla generally charges more.

As a second Roadster owner discovered, the Tesla battery system can completely discharge even when the vehicle is plugged in. This owner's car was plugged into a 100-foot long extension cord for an extended period. The length of this extension cord evidently reduced the electric current to a level insufficient to charge the Tesla, resulting in another "bricked" Roadster.

A third bricked Tesla Roadster apparently sits in its owner's garage in Newport Beach, California. That owner allegedly had a similar prior incident with a BMW-produced electric vehicle. He claimed BMW replaced that vehicle, but Tesla refuses to do the same. The owner either couldn't afford or didn't want to pay Tesla the $40,000 (or more) to fix his car.

A fourth customer shipped his Tesla Roadster to Japan, reportedly only to discover the voltages there were incompatible. By then, it was too late, the car was bricked, and he had to ship it back to the US for repairs.

The whereabouts and circumstances of the fifth bricked Roadster the Tesla service manager expressed knowledge of are unknown.

Gas in the states is shit. I have seen first hand American driven only fuel filters, and gas tanks. For some reason the gas down there is dirty.

Remember tips to save,

- Car in good mechanical shape (Tire pressure*)
- Drive the speed limit ( try and keep a nice flow in your driving)
- Plan trips to get more done in one go
- No fat bitch's
