all packing nice specs...but why can't they just change the design cue slightly so it doesn't look like a direct rip-off of the iphone/xperia/galaxy/lumia?

^ agree. They are still weak on the designing job.
You can't really blame them, this is their culture, everytime I met someone with a fake iphone, they say, "aiya, think about, this look like an iphone, but only 1/10 of its price, it has better spec than iphone, better yet it is made in CHINA, OUR PHONE, so good deal, good deal"
