Dashcam footage I drafted a long post about my daily experiences with asshole drivers on the road, but I edited it down to just one question: I capture a lot of dashcam footage of stupid shit happening on the roads... What can I do with this footage? I'm thinking of just throwing it on the web and creating compilations of fucking assholes I encounter in this city... But sometimes I get faces and plates, and it seems like it could actually be used as evidence? Any thoughts? (DISCLAIMER: I'm not a vigilante, I don't pursue these assholes, they find me on the road and I don't put up with the bs and they go nuclear) |
Several people have been posting clips off their dash cam in this thread: http://www.revscene.net/forums/65475...rs-thread.html |
can't answer your question but i also have another slightly related question: if you get pulled over while having a dash cam recording, are you required to tell the officer that your conversation is being recorded? a friend told me that but i wasn't too sure about it |

You're in a public space and are allowed to record/tape what you wish and is well within your rights to do so. |
Shorn... I should add to CRS' statement. If you a recording say.. a phone conversation though, you MUST have consent from the other party |

Canadian Privacy Law Blog: Can you record telephone calls without consent? "So what is the conclusion? A lawful party to a call that starts and ends in Canada can record that call if they are doing so for a personal or journalistic reason and not a commercial purpose." |
