Dashcam footage
 

I drafted a long post about my daily experiences with asshole drivers on the road, but I edited it down to just one question:

I capture a lot of dashcam footage of stupid shit happening on the roads... What can I do with this footage? I'm thinking of just throwing it on the web and creating compilations of fucking assholes I encounter in this city... But sometimes I get faces and plates, and it seems like it could actually be used as evidence?

Any thoughts?

(DISCLAIMER: I'm not a vigilante, I don't pursue these assholes, they find me on the road and I don't put up with the bs and they go nuclear)

can't answer your question but i also have another slightly related question:
if you get pulled over while having a dash cam recording, are you required to tell the officer that your conversation is being recorded? a friend told me that but i wasn't too sure about it

No, you aren't required to let the other party know you're recording.

You're in a public space and are allowed to record/tape what you wish and is well within your rights to do so.

If you a recording say.. a phone conversation though, you MUST have consent from the other party

Subsequently, if you're recording an IRL conversation, on you (the recorder) needs to know you're recording.

Only if it's for commercial purposes (such as a customer support or telemarketing call).
