I heard its a short season plus rich Aholes in China are buying them up and paying a lot of money for them.

Went to Come Along yesterday. Not sure how long they are going to last though. Pretty much every table were eating them.

$26.99 at Dynasty tonight. $279.99 for a 10 pounder. It took them close to 45 mins to cook the crab. Wtf

Worked out to be about $60 per person with other 2 dishes. I guess it's not super expensive when split. But I can eat a king crab myself easily minus the rice. I finsihed at 7 pound lobster once bought from T&T.

The majority are red king crab are Paralithodes camtschaticus, the blue ones are Paralithodes platypus however the fisheries of that one has collapsed. I think the rest of the year are just Opies / spider crabs / Chionoecetes, which is not the same family as King Crabs. You can tell the difference by the shell.

I think as of right now, you would be lucky to even find a place at $15. Most places are at least $20+ now.

$33 @ Kirin

Red Star on Granville had massive king crabs on Sunday, March 25th. But they were like $25+ per pound.
