East Indian Website developers... vs locals. price, quality... etc

Have you guys used any website developers from india?

which ones did you guys use? or recommend?

are they that much cheaper than local ones?

I need some serious input in this, i have no idea what I'm doing, but I was told to look in east india.

what are some companies you guys would recommend?

Price
HELLA CHEAP like you can get a website made in a day for $10

HOWEVER
quality licks balls

Ulic Qel-Droma 02-28-2012 08:30 PM

it can't be hella bad, it's for a company.

PornMaster 02-28-2012 09:04 PM

Well a good idea is tell the guy to install wordpress plugin and then change it to a website
probably cost you $10-$20 and then fiddle around with the design yourself

Vancouver Bullion & Currency Exchange, VBCE.ca

That's a really basic site. No need to go to India. Just get it done locally cause it'll be easier to get them to do it the way you want and communications will be easier. I doubt anything like vbce could be even remotely expensive.

If you want to outsource it, go to eLancer, and check the ratings of everyone you see. Its how I found some of my contacts.

Some of them can get pricey (for India) but at the end of the day you'll still be saving over paying some Gastown hipster to do it.

Also, odesk has a ratings system as well IIRC.

I don't deal with any web developers directly (not my LOB) but I can ask around for you and get back to you via MSN... but your best bet would be to use elancer & odesk because you can see real feedback instead of just word of mouth.

Hope that helps.
