Where's the subtitles for the white guys that post here? Seemed entertaining, but I no understand! |
Both are stupid but as a respectable businessman you should never touch or push a customers! I bet you anything that if it was a white person who told him he was shorted changed he would have handed over the ten dollar bill with no questions asked. |
that was incredibly annoying |
This cafe is horrible in service. They expected every customer to pay 10% tips or more in full. The other day we went there, they don't have any service at all. So we didn't bother to tip them full . So the waitress/ the boss said that "you have to pay 10% tips" .. We were pissed and gave them 10% tips and never go back to this cafe.. It's not required by law to tip if they don't deserve any tips.. |
Tips or (gratuity) is NOT mandatory and based on service... If the service is horrible (like waiters/waitress just flops the meal on the table and walks away) that is horrible service.. If you try to get their attention and they see it but dont acknowledge it, thats horrible service... on avg, i tip 10-15%... if its really good or a cutie waitress, 20%... there have been a few times where i didnt tip at all.. food took long time, waitress didnt acknowledge me when i wanted something... it was bad.. |
The original Lido in Jordan is one of (if not the very) first HK style cafe.. I'd recommend it for tourists, because the atmosphere is really neat. I took this pic and it looks like it could have been taken in the 50's (well except the no smoking sign :fuckthatshit: ) http://i.imgur.com/j4xeJ.jpg |
lol ive been there |

I doubt there was much he could have said in rebuttal if you had told him this. Although, if the place is crazy busy, and I see that the waiters/waitresses are really putting in the effort, but still come up short on service, I would give them a break and still tip them. I know what it feels like to be a stressed out employee, especially if they are understaffed. |

anyways, what happened was our bill was like $22.xx so i paid $25. after about 15 mins i asked, where's the change? and they said "that's the tip" and i was livid. like seriously? :seriously: all i could think of at the moment was, what if i don't want to fucking tip you idiots? i didn't go back there for years and eventually their restaurant was taken over by someone else :fuckthatshit: |
who here thought that chinese woman's accent was horribad? i hate hearing canto mainland style... is a big pet peeve |

we didnt see the start of it so for all we know it started with her calmly and getting worked up cuz the guy @ the till was a douche (for not opening up and counting.. he likely considered the $10 a tip) what i said in nsfw Quote:
as for calling her out for being a mainland honger.... dont be ridiculous.... hongers act like that all the fucking time even when they're just having a pleasant conversation ;) Quote:

places like this have a far less chance of spit/sperm in your food as opposed to anywhere that hires randoms/teenagers I will risk stereotypically bad chinese service vs stereotypical teenagers/degenerates messing with my food Posted via RS Mobile |

I got short changed in japan a few days ago.. it was about $7 CAD too, so pretty annoying. Unfortunately language barrier meant there was no way to explain what happened.. was pretty damn frustrating I have to say, so I kind of have sympathy for this lady, who I wouldn't call "crazy" by any stretch. If you want to see crazy HK people, look for the airport lady or bus uncle. |
Not worth it for a couple of expired bolo bao, and I ain't talkin' about the buns. Good for the manager for being just as stubborn, now his ass is all over youtube. |

Few things that bother me. The lady's attitude for sure. You get shortchange, touch luck. It's your responsibility when you get the change prior to leaving to make sure you got the correct amount back. Once you leave the restaurant or any business there is nothing you can do. Feel bad for the restaurant owner these kind of short changing problems happen all the time. I'm not sure if it was intentional but there's no way a restaurant owner can be paying out $$$$$ if all the customers come back an X amount of time after they leave and said they got short-changed. Again buyer beware - check your change and rectify all discrepancies before leaving. |

Golden Award was awesome! Great service, never had problems. Used to close that place out some nights with Ronin and another friend. Good times :D |
