Craiglist scam or not? help please.

Hey everyone,
I need some help... I'm unsure if this is a scam or not. I'm just trying to be cautious as I believe majority of these sort of deals are scams. I'm very suspicious of this buyer, but I need to sell my struts asap...

here is the email I received.

"Sending the struts through fedex will not be secure and i also considered your own concern about been safe and secure i think it will be much better if you can arrange someone else to meet the pickup agent after the payment has been made. send me your paypal email address so that i can make payment for you and also let me know the address of a place where you choose to the the pick up agent for pick up."

Thanks.

If he pays you first, then I don't think it is a scam.

Where is the buyer located? Local or out of town? Nigerian prince?

If it sounds like a scam,99.9% of the time it usually is.

lol, I've always wanted to know what happens when a scammer gets in contact with another scammer through craigslist. I'm guessing they send each other "pick-up agents" in Nigeria.

If you ever need to ask, don't do it. That's the only rule you need.

whoever is picking it up can easily give you cash. Only scammers will need to send it off on stolen paypal accounts

FedEx? Paypal? Scam. They'll just chargeback on you unless you get them to pay as gift. Most cases, the buyer wins.

Two simple rules to avoid 90% of CL scams:

1) Deal in person (locally), no agents, plain old face to face
2) Cash only

And YES, just like everyone already said - that email is a scam.

PayPal payment, but in person pickup is a risky proposition. They can later do a chargeback on PayPal and claim they never received the item, and you won't have any way to prove they got it, and PayPal will side with the buyer and return the money.

You should reply back and say paypal isn't safe.
Ask for a western union money order instead, then you're good to go =D

Chances are, he's gna send you a fake "paypal" email message saying the payment has been made BUT it is locked until you ship the item or something stupid like that. The email address will have something like spoof@paypal.com or smth. anyway, this sounds fishy. you can play along tho, give him your paypal email address and see what he does. It won't hurt. Just remember to have your money FIRST before doing anything. Simple as that.
