Help with aux output cable/usb or iphone connector

i just picked up a sony deck with front and rear aux outputs and front usb output. i noticed that when i go over bumps fairly quickly sometimes my usb stick i guess moves and the connection doesn't stay sometimes. so i wanted to hook upto the rear and run a cable to hook up and that way i can put into my glove box and not have it moving around. now the thing i need to know is what's the best option for cable/connector type i should get?

3.5mm aux and usb
rca and usb

i wanna be able to run my iphone also so i know i want a female usb on one end for flash drive and i can hook up a data cable for iphone also.

USB is really where its at so you can control and charge your ipod or iphone. Aux input isn't quite as good for these reasons. Maybe you should spray some contact cleaner in the USB input so you don't end up getting connection issues.

If you really must use an analog connection then you can go stereo mini to stereo mini in a gold plated for the front input or a mini to stereo RCA connector for the rear of the deck. Either way, analog is analog.

i'm not worried about charging the iphone when in use. if i'm not losing sound quality then i'm not worried. i'll try cleaning the usb input and see if that fixes it. if i do end up using the rca to usb. is the cable below the one i need just with a female usb end though?

Ah I see. Well I wouldn't bother with that. Just use your headphone output as you are just switching back to analog anyways.

For true digital transfer though you should go true USB input. If the deck is new, why not warranty it? It shouldn't have that problem out of the box.

oh i didn't state clearly i guess. it's a used deck from my buddy. it works all good most of the time. sometimes it says no device detected, but after a few seconds it'll play again. it just seems a little loose.
