are the collars stuck?
Try wd40, or pb plaster soak it up good, maybe some light hits with rubber mallet or something. try tightening it a bit then loosening, anythign to break it free.

i soaked it with wd40, and hitting it with a rubber hammer . shit still tight as hell.

like the collars wont turn? just buy some penetrating lubricant, spray and let it soak for a hour, spray more then take a hammer and a long thick flathead screwdriver and hit them , they should loosen.

DIY Mechanic Lesson 1:
WD-40 is great for squeaky hinges, but useless against anything seized. Go buy PB Blaster.

Just take a screwdriver or center punch and give the collar a couple of good hits, like TurboFC3S. A shop wouldn't have the ability to do anything different, short of actually cutting the collars off and replacing them.
