Does the quality of vodka matter if the intent is to mix it in drinks like OJ or Cran? I don't usually drink vodka so I'm curious Posted via RS Mobile |

actually i ordered some martinis at a restaurant before and it tasted great but i didn't take note what kind of vodka was used. i guess it must have been something good? i usually drink captain morgan's spiced rum & ginger ale and captain morgan's is the only spiced rum that i know of. been switching over to vodka because i'd rather mix juice than pop. |

Grey goose is smoother than most vodka but the price difference is not justifiable and it takes lots of drinking and experience to notice differences between alcohol For the 25 and under crowd who's main purpose is to get shitfaced...buying the normal vodka is the same thing. Leave the expensive liquor for our dads who drinks it straight. |
get a bottle of Grey Goose and it will blow you away then and thats not even the top vodka anymore. |

^ thanks tips I tried the higher end absolut I had never seen before at the liquor Store yesterday it was quite good, same price point as goose Posted via RS Mobile |
Grey Goose is quite cheap if you purchase it while on an Air Canada flight. Almost 50% the retail price at the LDB. |
Grey Goose is mostly marketing hype although it is smooth from what I hear (don't really want to fork out to try it when Stoli is cheaper). However, Stolichnaya seems to rate rather high in a lot of reviews, and is cheaper than Goose. |

A proper bar will know what to give you.. places like Earls or whatever might not |

i always specify gin martini. even though they should know better, they usually dont. |
Bought a case n cracked a bottle last nite. I must say, im impressed, good tasting vodka n it went down smoothly. Good investment made :D Posted via RS Mobile |
lol...how the hell do you guys drink smirnoff or the other shit tasting russian standard??? (that stuff tastes like battery acid) I perfer sobieski and kettle one as my #1 cheap picks..same price as the other crap; but tastes much better. GG is just a marketing ploy and for people whom want to be "baller" |
In terms of cheap cheap stuff I think polar ice is the best Posted via RS Mobile |
for cheap vodkas my vote goes to iceberg vodka + russian standard i perfer the van gogh series vodka over grey goose. goose is good but most if it is all hype. heard people in france dont even drink that shit lol its a big money maker thats for sure. |
Interesting article regarding how Grey Goose was founded: Sidney Frank - The Man Behind Grey Goose Vodka Basically it has no history or heritage behind it that people think it does, and was completely a packaged marketed product from it's start in 1997. i.e. they basically came up with the concept, name and brand first before the vodka was ever even distilled. |

I thought he had something to do with Red Bull but actually he is the marketer of "Crunk" |
^wtf he created redbull AND jagermeister? dam jaggerbombs fucken shower in that shit. :troll: |
Had to fix, he had nothing to do with Red Bull, but he did create the success of Jager. He has an energy drink called Crunk |
Stoli is my standby for everyday vodka. Can't really go wrong with it. For something a little higher end I like Van Goh Blue and Belvedere. Goose is fine but I think its a bit overpriced for what you get. |
