On a side note, the Enterprise D should not have gone out like that nor should Kirk have died. Damn you Generations!
On the real subject: it amazes me how much life navies can get out of its ships. It can become generational for those who serve on them. Sad to see them go as not all have a nice retirement as a museum or artificial reef.
Enterprise will be towed to the shipyard where it was built in nearby Newport News so its nuclear fuel can be removed, a process that will take until 2015. What remains of the ship after that will then be taken to Washington state so it can be scrapped.
Sisko doesn't deserve to be on the list. Being in charge of a space station doesn't mean you get a seat at the Captain's table in my books. That oversided runabout, the Defiant, doesn't count either.

Sisko could be in charge of a cup of coffee and he'd still be 10x the man that Picard, Kirk, Janeway, or Archer is.
When it's time to kick some ass, you send in Sisko. And here's why:
-unlimited levels of badass
-he murders people and gets away with it (blew up that Romulan ambassador on a whim)
-he's black. and he's also bald. so he's pretty much Samuel L Fucking Jackson
-he gets those crazy eyes and starts giggling and shit when people piss him off
-lost his wife and next thing you know he's banging a freighter captain
-you don't fuck with Sisko. (but everybody fucks with Janeway, and they most definitely fuck with Archer)

-Went into countless battles wih that oversized runabout the Defiant, he didn't need a Galaxy or Intrepid class ship to back him up.
-Beats up Q, an omnipotent being. Even Q admits he's more bad ass than Picard after that!

Voyager will always be the best Star Trek show imo.
The two part series finale of Voyager was probably the most epic Star Trek finale of all time.
The best captain? Definitely not Janeway.
Voyager was the worst.
How many times did Picard do battle with nameless aliens? rare. He used diplomacy to build connections instead of blowing them out of the stars.
Voyager? Every second week they had to fire on someone.
Voyager also annoyed me with the level of political correctness. Not only do we have a woman in command, but we have a native first officer, a black vulcan(which was the WORST character) and an asian dude.
Then, when that wasn't enough, we brought on "tits of plenty" which borged up the final 3 seasons.
Here's an episode: Problem occurs. Janeway gets hostile. Tits of plenty has a plan that features some borg thing she knows how to do. Dumb fucking doctor(which could just run the whole ship ps. Why bother with cool androids like Data when you can just copy computer programs) makes some stupid long winded statement. Others try to help. Problem is solved by fighting.
You know who wasn't in that episode I wrote? The first fucking officer! Never saw him again, until they needed someone to have sex with Seven.
Oh! And remember back when the borg were cool? Three times they were cool. Even TNG had fucked them up. The first introduction had introduced this cool race that was intent on destruction. Awesome. They come back in the best 2 hours of Star Trek EVAR and kick some ass, then get beaten. Then they come back as wimpy individuals. Then they are salvaged by First Contact and we even accept retconning in the queen. Purely because she looks kind of hot all, I want to kill you, but I talk dirty and I'm a little too shiny.
Then Voyager. Now we have a borg hierarchy. Now we can negotiate with the borg. We do lunch, and chat. Next we'll exchange officers and learn about each other.
Fuck! Voyager wasn't JUST bad...it was ruin fucking Star Trek horrible. Enterprise tried to bring it back, but that was a whole new level of lets fuck things up even more.
THEN some dude named JJ Abrams takes over fucking it in the butt, by way of redesigning the enterprise to look like an apple computer. I kept expecting the view screen to have problems syncing to itunes. Spock and Uhura dating? Are you high?

I couldn't stop mashing the THANKS button (fuck Voyager) until you got to the last line. Dude I couldn't disagree more - JJ Abrams takes a seriously lame series that I bet money nobody can watch 5 consecutive minutes of, and turned it into something awesome (basically now everybody is Sisko). I'm willing to live with the Apple theme, it's a small price to pay.
