save directly on dropbox.
I got some pictures on there that I share with parents/family since dropbox has this nice webbased viewer for albums

also got my resumes on there so I can pull them out anywhere and anytime.
Quite useful actually

Well, the IMEI generator page was removed.
Fortunately, I still had that page on my browser and saved the HTML.
Just download and open this HTML file in your browser:
imei.html - File Shared from Box - Free Online File Storage

It's apparently based on this page: Imei Generator in Javascript , but I couldn't find the specific TAC from the stupid, unsorted pull down list.

Thanks OP and Bonka!

I just recently got Dropbox, up to 4GB now xD

I use it to backup things, and transfer things from my laptop to my desktop, and host images on the public folder! (my fav part).

Simplex123 03-15-2012 10:20 AM

I use Dropbox for centralizing access to files. I have way too much data to use it as a backup. It's just so ridiculously easy to drop files in the folder, and then letting Dropbox do the syncing across all my linked devices.

Box.net gives 50GB free, but it's not as mindless to use, and they limit free accounts to 100MB max per file.

I also couldn't find a box.net consumer desktop client.
Dropbox's client is by far the nicest out of all the ones i've used.

You don't even need to use the IMEI generator. Just use this IMEI as a base: 35600204089503, and change the last few digits. Keep incrementing by 1 until you get one that works.

Tried to grab 2x but says "already claimed a coupon of this type" BS, so posting it here to save someone the trouble.

Psykopathik 03-16-2012 09:46 AM

I already have 3 accounts with 7.5GB each. will this work for me? :p

Presto 03-16-2012 10:23 AM

More space is always good! There's a few RFD'ers that maxed out at 27GB of space. I'm at 10.9GB, at the moment. I want MOAR.

EDIT: Offer is Dead
The link to the offer now redirects to their homepage. It's been RFD'd

!MiKrofT 03-16-2012 12:29 PM

you can create your own 5 GB JPG.

on win 7 under admin mode open a CMD window and type in:

fsutil file createnew Cbigpicture.jpg 5000000000

The C : \ being the USB drive so use whatever letter your usb is. this makes a fake 5 GB file. make sure your flash drive is bigger then 5 GB. the name can be anything, not only "bigpicture" EG: mycock.jpg

you may have to navigate to your USB drive first.

also thats 9 zeros. you can prolly substitute the first digit to make smallersized files EG: 3000000000 for a 3 GB file.

Quote:
If you want to upload pictures but do not have 5GB of pictures to use, follow this:

1) Plug in a USB stick/SD card/other media larger with 5GB
2) Create a folder and rename it "DCIM"
3) Open command prompt with admin privileges (start button, search "CMD," right clink on "Command Prompt" and run as an admin
4) Enter: fsutil file createnew XDCIM\LargePic.JPG 5000000000 where X is the drive from step 1
5) Let Windows create the file, then allow Dropbox to search it for pictures
6) Upload and you're set
BTW the Windows beta version is here: http://dl-web.dropbox.com/u/17/Dropbox%201.3.13.exe
rename a 5GB file's extension to .JPG and drop it on a usb stick.

Make a folder on the usb stick and name it DCIM. Put that renamed file in it. plug into pc

after you get the sync to dropbox click sync. after a few min you get the full 5 GB bonus space and you can cancel the upload.

Cloud storage provider Dropbox has just doubled the referral bonus it gives users for referring friends to the service. Previously Dropbox referrals resulted in a bonus of 250MB for both the referrer and the new sign-up, but from today that's been increased to a more substantial 500MB. Similarly, the maximum amount of storage users can earn through referrals has been upped from 8GB to 16GB. If you're a paying user, that's doubled again to 1GB per referral, up to 32GB total.

There's also good news for anyone who's already referred a bunch of people -- your bonuses from those referrals will also be doubled, so you'll likely see your Dropbox allowance increase a little.
