Wi-fi Help. Hey Guys, Tried to the best of my knowledge using google and what not and i was unable to get anything to work, was wondering if you guys might know something about this. First off i have a Linksys WRT120N as my router. At first i thought it was only my samsung galaxy tablet that wouldn't connect to my Wi-Fi. After several hours of searching on the internet, i decided to use my Blackberry to try to connect to the Wi-Fi and even that wouldn't work. Anybody experience this problem before or know a fix for it. |
have your tried power cycling your router? can you connect but no internet? or you cannot connect at all? |
power cycling is a good place to start. can your wired connections (IE a computer) connect to the internet? |
power cycle first, if that doesnt work do a hard reset of the router. |
DNS... Anyways what IP was assigned to your device? Does wired work? Is it even plugged to the modem? Posted via RS Mobile |
yeah all the wired connections work including my ps3 and cpu, just the wi-fi isn't. What do you mean by power cycling? if you mean disconnecting the internet and replugging all the wires i have tried that and still the same problem. Im assuming hard reset on the router is a button i can press? My Wi-Fi tab would keep showing up as "connecting...scanning....connecting..scanning " back and forth but never says "obtaining ip address". Thanks again guys |
you can try to reset your router to factory default and reapply the settings |
Linksys WRT120N .. I'm judging by the name that its a wireless N router. Most tablets should be able to work on wireless N but I have a fairly new wireless printer + 2 laptops that cannot find my wifi when I have it set to wireless N only. Try to set it to a mixed G/N signal. Only drawback to a mixed signal is that usually the wireless N devices get poorer quality signal -- in your case this isn't relevant as you have no other wireless devices on wireless N. |
Thanks Guy. Its up and working. I just had to do a reset on the router. :) |
