Logo Designers - Start A Logo Design Contest at LogoMyWay.com ™

Put up a contest at 'market rate', and you will get a good logo

I don't think that's the best way to get a logo. I've seen the outputs of those and 99designs, crowdspring, etc and they're frankly not very good brands even if you bid at the high end of the spectrum. Sorting through 100s of crap designs is just annoying.

You get what you pay for and I'd rather work with someone who knows what they're doing. The hourly might be higher, but they'll better accomplish what I want.

My opinion is that crowd sourcing is meant to be the cheapest method of obtaining a logo. Some designs are astonishing, but they are few and far in between. I think you nailed it when you said "you get what you pay for".

If you find someone good, please pass on their name, I am getting close to needing one too (not there yet).

The link you posted is great, fantastic quality, so clever.

Those are the types of designs that creatives like to masturbate over, but rarely do they make good logos in the real world.

I would also rather hire a good designer than crowdsource, but sometimes doing so takes more effort, as is apparent by this post in a non related forum. Maybe someone here happens to be a really good designer, maybe not. If you put up a contest the same price you'd pay a good designer, I still think you would get a good design. And in the meantime you could look for a designer and cancel the contest if you find one.

If you're willing to pay "market rates" then why not go with an agency?

How about a hipster on Main Street? :troll:

Just kidding. Sorry. :D

Also interested in this as well. I have ongoing work that will need to be done. Been looking to work with someone longer term for a while now.

Hate to be a drag...but the logos in the link you provided don't seem very good to me.

There are a few there that I liked, but a lot really have seemed to have the name chosen for the logo possibility. Some company names really lend themselves to a creative logo, while others do not.

This coming from someone that did his own, and was averaging about 1 a year until I started fresh and made one I liked.

May we see the logo? If it's ok with you.
