The GM/Delco Friction modified Syncromesh has fixed the notchiness in my old integra and third gear issue in my TL.

yeah i have the dc5 first gen, 2002-2004. it grinds when i go into second gear (sometimes), and it's for sure not my shifting :p

when do u shift? 3000 rpm? when i shift at 3000 rpm, it WILL grind, but when i shift at 2500 rpm, its normal, but sometimes grainy. maybe the fluid hasnt set in to the syncros yet.

its been better with syncromesh. i dont know the difference b/t the regular and friction modified but im ganna try using AMSOIL next and also getting a magnetic drain bolt. i still have 2 bottles of the regular GM Syncromesh.

Actually, it's pretty random at times. I usually shift at around 2000-2500 to save gas. I never really noticed anything different from shifting at 3000 or higher. I'll check tomorrow.

Where can I get myself a bottle of GM Synchromesh? I thought they discontinued it...

How often do you guys change your MTF?

Correct. It's simply branded as AC Delco.

I'm not sure how much it goes for these days (it's been a long time since I bought it) but I recall buying it at the Dueck GM Dealership on Terminal Avenue a long time ago. They had the best price compared to Lordco. Call and ask for the price before going though!

a little update. 2 weeks ago, i swapped my Acura MTF out for some GM Syncromesh Friction modified. the car ran better when shifting and had some grinds here and there but eventually wen away. Now i swapped that out and now running some AMSOIL. i guess it takes awhile to settle cuz its grinding a bit. im also using a magnetic drain bolt which should help a bit.
