Where to get resume professionally edited?

Does anyone know where I can get my resume "professionally" peer edited? I was looking at Craigslist and online, but I rather see if any RSers would like to refer me to someone rather than me sending my personal information online.

Thanks :megusta:

Are you looking for a free service only?

Nope, I'm willing to pay!

Did you consider talking to a recruiter in your field? Part of their service is to help you with your resume, you do not pay as the potential employer will pay if you get hired. Two birds with one stone: edited resume and someone actually looking for a job for you.

Not really peer edited but you can try the career services office in your school/department? They are really helpful.

What industry?

Generic resume editing is useless because what works in one industry is completely different from another.

For example, in finance, if you write a 2 page resume with an objective... well it's going to get tossed. In IT on the other hand, you can do 2 page resumes.

Etc etc

Thanks everyone, I'm gonna keep my head up and look for recruiters/advisors in my school.. But right now I'm at Langara so there isn't many people I can ask.

I'm leaning towards business i.e. accounting & entry-level jobs at a bank.

What is the standard in Finance?

Most post secondary institutions have an office that helps you with this and career planning.
