I LOVED Araxi. I did a review of it on yelp (maggie L) if you read online reviews. Hells Kitchen did a win there one season but I didn't know iron chef did too. Really great food, excellent service and a romantic place. A must try! |

You are mistaken and the winner of the Hell Kitchen Season 6 was the head chef of the Araxi Restaurant (Not sure if he is currently working there) |
anyone else on the others lol thanks for everyone so far |
Rimrock cafe, hands down. |
It was never Iron Chef, it was Hells Kitchen. Also the winner of Hells Kitchen is no longer at Araxi. |
Here are some pics we took at Araxi http://a8.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._1951565_n.jpg Crab roll in egg crepe http://a4.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._6623940_n.jpg Beach Angels Oysters http://a3.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._6768555_n.jpg We also ordered a spot prawns sashimi for our appies http://a6.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._2974130_n.jpg Side scallops, cooked to perfection! http://a2.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._5373031_n.jpg Beef tenderloin with crispy potato mash http://a3.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._8083843_n.jpg Chilled fresh lobster. Really yummy We shared everything and bill came out to be...$260? $280? |
There's a Hy's in downtown so no point to go so far for that. If you're looking for steak I suggest Sidecut, the cowboy steak ftmfw! :awwyeah: Araxi has my vote too but dang it's expensive lol ... |
well at the top i put im going to whistler i know araxi is expensive =[ my wallet will be crying but im being taken care of too if you know what i mean ;) one more q about araxi what is the dress code? business casual? |
i've eaten at all 3 multiple times. barefoot bistro is the best restaraunt in whistler, without question. after barefoot, you have araxi and hys if you want a steak. but barefoot is the clear, clear #1. |

you can't go wrong with either choice (araxi, barefoot). i prefer the location of araxi, but food wise barefoot is on another level (and also more expensive). barefoot also has a better wine list (but probably not an issue for most people). realistically, you will be going back to whistler, and will end up trying both. so maybe try araxi first, then barefoot next time. |

My wife and I loved Araxi, been there only twice. She used to be a chef at a fine dining restaurant (Ciopinnos and others), so she knows a little bit. Never tried barefoot before. |
Bearfoot* Bistro |
I went to Araxi last weekend. Get the ribeye steak. I normally wouldn't if I'm not at a steakhouse but damn was it good. It's from PEI and most local restaurants get their steaks from Alberta. I used to work at the Keg so I like to think I know a little bit about meat. |
Next time I'm back up at Whistler, it's time to eat the Cowboy steak! http://farm5.staticflickr.com/4142/5...e6df9b89f1.jpg |
Lobster yummm. |

LOL!!! In the 2 months I had the misfortune of "cooking" at the keg I'd say I probably lost about 40% of any knowledge of food I had gained through my first 2 years of apprenticeship. I remember my first day someone told me to cut basil for the line. I said "how would you like it cut? Chiffonade?" He looked at me confused and said "no uhhh, cut it into long strips" |
