Facelift R8 Audi R8 facelift revealsevolutionary change for 2013 Anyone seen this yet? Not sure if I like the head lights yet. Don't know how to get the photos off autoblog. |
Saw it on another forum, apparently this is still just a test/prototype? Still looks good, but headlights look slightly too robot-ish imo. But apparently that's what all supercars are moving towards these days. |

THE headlights....i found it the difference... |
I can definitely see the changes in the front and rear, mostly to do with lights and grills. However, I wouldn't say it's enough to call it a face lift... This however, is MONEY! A friend posted this online a few days back: Finally some clear carbon! – Jon Olsson - Official homepage and blog http://jon-olsson.com/wp-content/upl...igera-copy.jpg http://jon-olsson.com/wp-content/upl...igera-copy.jpg http://jon-olsson.com/wp-content/upl...igera-copy.jpg |
Same shit happened to Nissan with their GT-R :fuckthatshit: |
Looks better imho |

Still has an ugly/disproportionate profile IMO http://images.thecarconnection.com/m...00387594_m.jpg But like everyone says it's pretty subtle for a facelift, bodywork looks identical |
lol just wait till matt zhang gets one |
i prefer the current one imo |
I bet I couldnt tell the difference if I saw them driving beside each other... |
Is it just me or does it look longer? |
looks like they switched the projector xenons for LED headlights.... guessing thats the new trend? |
body does not look right...... |

The new R8 has two large rounded exhaust tips. That was available before but only in the GT version. The regular R8 comes equipped with small quad tip exhaust. http://0.tqn.com/d/exoticcars/1/0/r/...di-R8-rear.JPG VS: http://autoforcar.com/wp-content/upl...-top-image.jpg Also the new R8 will come with an updated version of MMI. If you've looked into Audi's infotainment before, you'll know that the R8 has a very outdated infotainment system that many people have been complaining about. Low-resolution maps, poor menu layouts and inconvenient controls. The facelift R8 will come with the latest version of MMI. Also, in the auto transmission, the R8 gets rid of the 6 speed single clutch and replaces it with a 7 speed dual-clutch. In addition, the 5.2L V10 will have an increase in about 15 HP making it 540 hp. Again, facelifts are only subtle changes until the next generation R8 comes out. That is supposed to be a smoother looking car. They're going to get rid of the classic R8 side blades, add more carbon fiber replacing the aluminum to make it lighter. They're also going to get rid of the manual transmission and make it only available in a dual-clutch. |
love the huge exhausts :D |

As for the other features the new MMI is alot easier to use and faster than the RNS system it came with, that was 2005 technology. The switch to a dual clutch is a good move too, considering the R-tronic currently inplace makes it really unfriendly to drive in the city. |
They pulled a porsche 911. Then again, theyre only calling it a facelift not a "new model" |

Rumour has it it will be powered by a 3.6L Bi-turbo V6 to promote Audi's LeMans R18 racecar's technology and for emission purposes. |
I'm okay with the new lights.. but now the profile of the car, especially the front, looks like the head of an Alien, from Alien lol. O_o |
