I think a lot of unionized people get monday off, I used to when I was in the Machinist Union and it was with a non-government company. Now that I'm on my own, I can take it off but don't earn anything.

If you work for the government and also work compressed hours, you can potentially get a 5 day weekend by having your flex day off on Thursday (or Tuesday) and getting Good Friday + Easter Monday off...

that's pretty sick if you ask me

Tomorrow off for me. I'm not in a union nor do I work for the government. We get the friday of BC day long weekend off too.

That's what I did last year. Worked max compressed hours and had 5 days off.
This year I got off at 1 on Thursday and have the fri/mon off.

Easter Monday is like St Patty's day or Valentine's day..it's a 'holiday' but it's not deemed an official stat day by the government
