New Canadian Loonie and Toonie!

Okay I was browsing the Royal Canadian Mint and found out they just released the visuals of the new Loonie and Toonie. For some folks here, you probably would have known that both these two coins will get a slight redesign and construction for this year.
Short description can be found here:
New $1 and $2 coins from the Royal Canadian Mint

And instead of posting a new thread I came across this glow in the dark dinosaur coin!!!!! WTF LOL So awesome!!! (25cent Denomination) (ETA April 16th)

The new coins will need new coin machines/dispensers that will recognize it. Though I'm sure the newer machines can change the variation in weight but older machine won't be able to. I believe the weight is different for the new coins due to a different metal construction.

I want to see how much they spent on redesigning this fucking coin. It's a coin, who cares what it looks like. Wasteful spending imo.

The Mint makes a hefty profit each year and does not rely on public funding.

Won't be a problem.

Quote:
While it is true that the new coins will be marginally lighter than older versions because multi-ply plated steel is less dense than alloy, the difference in weight is so negligible that they will not feel noticeably lighter when handled. Also, this minimal weight reduction will not be an issue for vending machine acceptance as vending mechanisms employ many different parameters to verify a coin's authenticity.
Quote:
Are these coins going to work in vending machines, pay phones and parking meters?

The Mint has spent several years preparing vending equipment manufacturers and operators for this change and they have been given the time needed to update their equipment so that the new coins will be accepted. As a result, the great majority of vending equipment will accept the new coins by the time they enter circulation.
Q&As on the New $1 and $2 Coins

Think the really old machines detected coins by weight and size.
But pretty much all modern machines like since a decade (or more) ago, detect by other methods, like using magnetic fields.

A steel coin will have a different magnetic signature than a silver coin would. A plastic coin will not respond to a magnetic field at all.

http://www.mint.ca/store/coin/fine-s...13-prod1290011

Im not sure if im reading it correctly... If we subscribe, we get the 20$ silver coin, and the box. and as the other 6 coins are made, they will be shipped individually at no extra cost for the coins?

EDIT: nvm, i believe its 89.99 for each coin... lol

no its more than likely $90 for 1 coin but they'll mail you the others when they're made so you're sure to get them all but they'll all be $90 for 1

the coins have a $20 face value they're not going to sell you $140 for $90 and give you a box to boot

edit: oh u already found out dyuh shoulda reloaded
