they are working on the mammoth

i read a really great book about scientists working on a find with viable tissue from Siberia.

they are using indian elephant dna to fill the missing gene sequences as they are more closely related than the african elephant.

documentary on the other iced mummies they found.. the first mummy that is shown is the boy that was found next to that 15 year old girl..

its not actually not that great of a documentary, i just skipped to the parts where they show the other mummies they found


its crazy how well that girl is well preserved, compared to the other ones where their skin shrivelled up..

this kind of stuff is intriguing to read and watch. people finding well preserved stuff from hundreds to thousands of year old stuff

For those in hk, the preserved woolly mammoth is currently on display at IFC. Well was last week, not sure anymore.
