According to ringhk: HSDPA / WCDMA / GSM 850/900/1800/1900 3.5G
and wow it plays FLAC natively! Putting the 64gb to good use

Should be the same as all the other phones. A day's worth of usage. Shouldn't be much different than any dual core phone since this is a newer more optimized chip.

:considered:

EDawg 04-20-2012 11:29 PM

bought the dual core MX when i was in HK in march.
as an iPhone user, wasn't a huge fan of the interface and usage. but then again the dual core does not support ICS

ended up bringing the phone back to vancouver and selling it.

good looking solid phone, but don't think I'll be buying another meizu product anytime soon

SkinnyPupp 04-21-2012 12:03 AM

IPhone user's opinion on phones = :fuckthatshit:

asian_XL 04-21-2012 12:31 AM

dual core meizu - 1600mah
quad core meizu - 1700mah + 20% less power consumption cpu

I have small hands, tried the current meizu at their store, it's perfect size, anything bigger than 4.3" (Samsung GS2) will need two hands, one hand holding the phone and the other operating the screen.

iphone is great, but it's pointless to get ip4s now and iP4 is slow. I can easily trade it in without spending extra for this meizu quad. Quad core phones should be able to last for 2-3 years from now, hopefully.

twitchyzero 04-21-2012 04:05 AM

are these china androids easily purchased here in vancouver? (through online retailers that come unlocked and ready to be used here?)

asian_XL 04-21-2012 06:16 PM

I heard you can buy the dual core version for $580 in Vancouver.

Psykopathik 04-23-2012 09:37 AM

why make more phones that look like iPhones.....

SkinnyPupp 04-23-2012 09:40 AM

You mean smartphones that look like smartphones?

a smartphone can look like anything. Manufacturers seem to choose to copy Apple for some reason. I could put a "home button" sticker on my Note and tell everyone its an iPhone 5 and they would believe it.

Or maybe there's not much else you can do when the screen takes up 95% of the surface of the phone. What else would you want them to do with it? Put a big border around it? Make the button a square?

The only think they can change is the back of the phone, and from what I see, nobody copies the iphone there.

Smartphones have looked pretty much the same as the front of the iphone for years. Well before the iphone was ever thought of.

once again, iphone users = :fuckthatshit:

Spec of iPhone is too outdated, iOS is getting buggier

The meizu is running at a lower resolution though.

asian_XL 05-05-2012 05:39 PM

SkinnyPupp 05-05-2012 05:41 PM

Everything Meizu M9, MX and M8 | Meizu Me

delay!!!! it won't launch until July the earliest

Quote:

Altough it was promised to be coming in June J. Wong confirmed yesterday what we have kind of expected these last few days. The new Flyme 1.0 OS along with the quad-core version of the Meizu MX has both been delayed until at least July because the software is not fully ready. Fans on the company's BBS already started mocking Flyme "Playme". When one of them asked JW whether they are releasing it by July 15th he promptly said "It's not sure, we will release it as soon as possible" and that"Engineers have a lot to do, they work overtime every day...".
It also seems JW was the one who designed the icons in the bottom bar (check out our gallery of screenshots of a leaked version here) which a lot of people find ugly. He commented on that "Ugly or not ugly, that depends on one's view... I hope you'll get used to it in time" - we still hope for a redesign!

launch party next Tuesday in Hong Kong. The old man is the local famous comedian.

Funny ad on the radio this morning "Have you masturbate yet today? ....not yet masturbated (exact sound of "Meizu")" 「你今日瀆左未呀? 未瀆 (Meizu)」

This is the newspaper ad...:fullofwin:!
