I think a lot of it is also just developing a mature attitude. Riding is serious business haha. But you're right, it is a learning bike for me, and doubles as a damn good commuter.

Ps he still rips on me for getting a 250. Oh well LOL

Btw glove, I found that the ninja was going for a lot cheaper than the 250's--used atleast. That was the major deciding factor for me.

ya I was looking to buy new,

used cbr 250's were going for like 4k /4.5k

meanwhile a brand new one cost me 5k out the door, it made no sense to buy a used one when I got a new one for 500 bucks more.

And the ninja was significantly more expensive out the door than the cbr was, made no sense.

for a 2013 ninja 300 your going to spend around 7.5k after taxes freight and pdi and all that shit, seems like a lot of money to spend on a beginner bike, the cbr's are still 5k out the door, with better fuel economy.

I wish there was a 600cc bike with 60+ mpg, id be all over that,

I got 70mpg on every tank so far with the cbr

not hating on 250's but why dont companies put out more 400cc bikes?

it sits in the same insurance bracket and is by no means too fast for a noob. i understand the appeal of low horsepower speed, i raced corolla's for years against people with 2-4 times more HP. i think it would make the segment of the market more attractive without cannibalizing their 600cc sales.

i would love a modern, FI, 400 sport... i would buy that over a 600

it shows the capabilities of a 250 - which is still far beyond that of most riders. aside from the bike being a little smaller i don't see how it can be classified as a bitch bike. plus if you really wanna play that game... then your zx7r is a bitch bike compared to my 1000 :fuckthatshit:

That looks like the video from the PRS ninja 250 course with Reg Pridmore at Laguna

dn53 10-15-2012 06:34 PM

ive seen more women on 250's than 750's. i

gdoh 10-16-2012 08:47 AM

only your ego makes it a bitch bike. I would love to buy a cheap 250 for the track one day

dink 10-16-2012 11:41 AM

Everyone has their own biased opinion on bikes. Girls like to ride 250's why? Light, cheap on gas and insurance and easy to maneuver around the city and winding roads. Hell, it might even be more comfortable for them to ride. Some girls are speed freaks like most guys and some must want 2 wheels just to commute around and have fun.

I've seen more 750's at starbucks than 250's. =)

Had 4 women race 250's at mission in the last round, all new to racing and new to 250's, all learning some great racecraft and having a blast.

I'm happy to let someone try my 250 at mission, but don't be surprised if your butt get's kicked by one of the 4 women :fullofwin:

I'm a good friend with AFM champ Brian Bartlow. He races 250 in Cali..and to be honest I haven't seen anyone go as fast as he can on a 250... I met him at willowsprings last year in Cali, he taught me a lot ...and to ride the shit out of a 250cc like he does takes years and years of experience..

pfft 750...849cc is where its at:awwyeah:
