Most likely a B6 or B7 S4... :considered:

b6/b7 don't use those style door handles and that bumper (headlight shape)

a7 uses honeycomb foglight grill + split grill and that bumper shape (for the headlights) + those style door handles

at first i thought it was rs4 but honeycomb center grill would be present too

either way, that is a messed up accident!

kwy 04-29-2012 12:24 AM

Well one things for sure..it's not an R8.

xilley 04-29-2012 12:41 AM

you can obviously tell, everyone is more interested in guessing what the car is than what actually happened. yup thats RS alright! :fullofwin:

parm104 04-29-2012 12:49 AM

LOL some of these comments are such fails....

- It's NOT an R8...O.P. assumed high-end Audi = R8.
- It's NOT a B6 or B7 A4...
- It's certainly NOT an Mercedes lol

That's an A7 S-Line as it has already been mentioned. Those wheels are factory S-Line A7 wheels and the shape of the vehicle is still recognizable.

There should be a new thread for people to guess "what car is it?" and only show mangled or destroyed cars haha

It has chrome mirrors on the side. Definitely not an A7, and some sort of S / RS model.

I see A7 aswell. Only minor injuries from a crash that serious. :fulloffuck:

Maybe next car should be euro :accepted:

:suspicious:
""Within about an inch or two inches, he would have been hit by the pole and probably would have killed himself."

It's not the car...it's how the crash happened.

insomniacRA 04-29-2012 05:58 PM

thank god the car didnt crash into the house

Why, do people actually go to jail for drunk driving? Any amount of time that would be considered appropriate? All I see are pathetic sentences.

Mike Oxbig 04-29-2012 11:02 PM

Somebody was going back home to Richmond and this happened.

Yes I was referring to the S line/class for Audi. It was a random guess as well seeing as the car was split in two

seakrait 04-29-2012 11:38 PM

what with all the safety standards and features on modern luxury vehicles - side-impact this and structural rigidity that - how fast do you have to be travelling to have your car split in TWO when you hit a pole?! it's either saying something about the car or about how fast the idiot was going.

Akinari 04-29-2012 11:43 PM

I'd also like to know how the hell a supposedly highly engineered luxury German sedan gets torn into half by a light post. Even if the vehicle was moving at a considerably high rate of speed, theoretically a light post should not be able to rip through a car. Does this say something about the structural integrity of the A7? Unless the guy was going 160+

SolidPenguin 04-29-2012 11:49 PM

Or how well built that pole is...

smoothie. 04-30-2012 12:09 AM

make cars out of pole material?

Audi A7 crashes at high speed into a poll= car split in half and minor injuries
BMW M5 crashes at 300km/h and flips multiple times = still in one piece and minor injuries (dog not harmed)

BMW it is.

First of all, it looks more like a BC Hydro pole than a light pole. Second, in order to protect occupants, safety engineers understand that there are 3 collisions that occur in every impact. If you can describe the 3 collisions, you'll understand why the car behaved the way it did.

crazie_gsr 04-30-2012 06:49 AM

My buddy lives in one of the houses in the photos and he tells me he's seen more flipped over cars on his front lawn in the past 20 years living there than finding nickels and dimes In a fountain.

That curve is notorious for accidents! This guy is lucky to be alive..
