Headlight and Fog Light Questions

I got a new car, and the stock headlights are not cutting it for me. I find them really dim at night.
I used to have Silverstars in my old car and they were good.
I was planning on getting another set for a new car but I started to hear from friends that Piaa Ultrawhites and Phillips are better.
My question is, are they really that much better? And do the "results" justify the much higher price?

My other question is whether yellow or white fog lights be better?
I drive in the country a lot. I will have to deal with total darkness, rain, and fog.

Thanks in advance.

I purchased PIAA white bulbs for DRL in 2001 and havent had any burnt out or problems with them, I too was amazed how long it lasted, and because its PIAA, the price was not cheap back then. Used over 6-7 years until I changed to yellow drls.
But its definitely worth its price and quality.

Never tried philips, maybe someone else can shed opinions.

With foglights, I dont think yellow are acceptable, possibly white only. But isnt there a law that we cannot turn on fogs during driving, only be used for fog weather? But I do know that yellow fogs do cut into the fog for better visibility.

Good luck with your purchase.

Is it a good idea to use bulb grease? Some say it helps it from shorting by keeping moisture away
