Record Police Officer? I am wondering if we have the rights to record a police officer? For example, if I got pulled over, can I record our entire conversation? Or what if I see a police officer 'arresting' someone.. can I legally record that as well? |
You have the right to record anything in a public space so long as one of the participants has knowledge they are being recorded and especially if all participants are aware. |
There is no legal expectation of privacy in a "public place"....however.....if your recording obstructs the Police then you can be charged.....and....if you take pictures of a crime scene then your picture and you, could be required for any legal process that may follow. |
