Zara in Hong Kong
 

I'm heading back to hk soon and I will be in search of a bunch of business-y clothing (dress shoes, ties, belts, shirts, suits, etc). How are the clothing from Zara in HK compared to here? Is it worth it to wait and get it in hk when i go back?

Maybe some of you guys have other places to suggest as well?

I was thinking uniqlo for dress shirts.

Obviously i'm not willing to spend a ridiculous amount on these things but if the quality is there i'm all for that.

In my experience the Zaras in Asia have exactly the same stock as the ones here. Price is comparable too.

I haven't gone to any of their stores in a bit but I expect that it is the same still.

Since you're going to HK, I assume you're asian..

First off, clothing in HK fits your body better. What I mean is size small there and here is different. If you have a smaller body, it's better to buy it there regardless due to the fit.

You can try G2000 black label or maybe some of the IT brands.

you don't pay taxes so that's a good thing, but then when i'm back htere, why would I wnat to bring shit back that's exactly the same, i just go search for other shit that i can't find here... my 2 cents

i was in HK recently and yes, Zara in HK and here have relatively the same stuff, prices are around the same too, but you do save on taxes in HK

business clothing i always went with G2000, affordable, durable, and looks good

G2000 Black label has a surprisingly nice collection of dress pants/shirts.
Ask your cousins to see if they have a G2k loyalty card. You can end up with at least 25-30% off on top of whatever discounts are available.

Pricing @ Zara in HK is comparable to Canada. You obviously save on the taxes, but that's about it.

G2000 is good enough for most applications.
Uniqlo is more everyday casual wear - their stuff ain't cheap either

I went to Uniqlo just a month ago and their quality has dropped. I bought an oxford cloth dress shirt a year back and I loved them so much that I wanted to get more. This time around, I found that their material is by far much thinner and the prices have gone up!
I was so disappointed I didn't even bother.

I heard Zara is about the same price as here in Canada though..so don't bother waiting. If you see something you like, just buy it.

H&M quality isn't so great. I'd go Zara over H&M, and even then it's only a small step above. Uniqlo is around the same quality in most items, and better in others.
I wasn't able to find any G2000 clothes to fit me as well as Uniqlo or Zara and H&M, so I took a pass on G2000.

G2000, especially its Black Label, sells the stylish clothing for work and other business related functions.

G2000 > all.

I have the VIP card for them... but it has a one year expiry date and it always expires when I return. :okay:

They even include free hemming, but that takes about 2 days turnaround.

Zara is same as Vancouver with a little higher prices. Uniqlo doesn't really have dress wear right now it's all summer shit. G2000 is pretty good. Walk around causeway bay an u can prob find stuff. Your Baller so you can go to SOGO.

Wrinkle shirts ftw, I would sometimes wear my jacket all day so that I dont have to iron my shirt the night before.

i can't agree anymore. yes i can buy a nice hugo boss shirt, but fuck, after two wears, it wrinkles like it has been in a dryer. G2000 shit.. the non wrinkle is just epic awesome. yes it's cheap, but heck, it's replaceable.

Takes like 3 minutes to iron a dress shirt.

When I was in HK, G2000 wrinkle free shirts were 3 for $500. Super cheap and high quality. I wear them here all the time.

Another 3 minutes for it to warm up.

I never iron anything.

About about pants? Wrinkle free pants are also available at G2000.

I have at least 10 shirts to rotate for work. That's 30 minutes saved! :fullofwin:

Plus, I don't have the patience to set up the ironing board and bring it back. There are those $100 stand up steam irons, but that's equivalent to about 5 G2000 shirts.

Wait, are the black label dress shirts and the wrinkle free shirts different products?? I'll defo look in to the latter when I'm back in June

The thing about quality cotton shirts is that you can never get them completely wrinkle-free without an industrial-type press that dry cleaners use.
