OK, so I've been trying to figure out 2 songs from way back (early 2001/2002 maybe) that I remember hearing on a lot of people's AA pages during that time. 1 song I can't even remember the lyrics for, so I'm not too hopeful in finding that again. The other song I do remember a few lyrics, which may or may not be accurate. I'm certain others have heard it because songs like this spread all over AA like fire back in those days.
It's a girl singing a slow heartbreak/relationship song, and the only lines I remember are:
"....what would I have to say"
"What would it be" or "What if it was me" <- 1 or the other, or something like that. She says this like 3, 4 times throughout the song.
I've been trying to figure out the artist and title on and off for the last 3 years at least.
If anybody has any idea of what the song may be, please post what you think. It doesn't matter if it doesn't even match the lyrics I posted. Just post it if it fits the general criteria (genre, date, etc), because it could be the other song I'm looking for.
edit: I think the artist's name is Vanessa, or Maria. A mononym. Wikipedia searches for artists of those names didn't bring up anything.
LOL, i remeber having no right click on my page. There used to be a way to prevent people from dragging and dropping pictures from your page off to their desktops too.
I also remember hosting all my pictures on Geocities before they blocked all AA viewers. Also having to use weird ass CSS to bypass AA blocking Java on our pages. Using tables to move my inbox all over the page. I went through the whole "Asian pride" phase, with a ton, a TON of those pictures. Glowing dragons, marquees, haha.
I still have my AA baseball cap too haha ... I remember doing tons of googling (well it was Yahoo back in the day) to learn all that HTML coding lol ... it kind of actually helped me in future endeavours though
We we're much smarter than kids nowadays. Basic HTML is now a course in high school. Yet, we learned tables, positioning, layouts, photoshop as early as 3rd grade without teachers.
