Question about single serving birthday cake

I am treating a friend for dinner. Intending to bring a small single serving cake to the restaurant ahead of time (single serve cake because it will be just me and this 1 friend).

Anyways, I wonder if there's any bakery who does name writing on a chocolate plate as seen in:

I am thinking of a chinese bakery but am unsure if:
1.) the bakery would need a few hours (or day?) of notice in advance?
2.) would they actually do this little extra thing for single serving cakes?
3.) how much extra is it
4.) would it be awkward to bring a single serving bday cake to a restaurant

TIA

I believe Metrotown T&T Bakery have 6 inch cake.. but don't quote me tho, I haven't been there for a year... Don't remember the price...

6 inch cake is way too much for just 2 people. That is why I am hoping for single serving cakes. And besides, the restaurant will have desserts too (we are getting some sort of set menu with some flexibility)

Most Chinese bakeries will do it. You have to give at least a couple days notice.
Pine house Bakery does a good job.

Are you looking to have it done by the same place you buy your cake?

If you have the chocolate plate I think any place can do it..

My friend who used to work in a bakery drew so much random stuff with the icing just for fun.

Yes, I would think getting the plate at the same place as the cake would be most convenient.

Le Patisserie - Phone them and let them know a few days in advance. Price is pretty good.

Love the fresh mango cake...

most Chinese bakeries will do it. My friend walked into one on fraser and 47 and got a chocolate plate with customized writing for like $2

Thanks for everyone's input. I got it at thomas haas. A small little writing 'happy birthday'. Took them only 5 minutes and free. I was afraid I needed to order 1 day in advanced (and they are closed sunday + monday)
