what do you do in your line of work that requires 64GB ram? Trying to setup ram disk...over 9000? :fullofwin:

Ronin 05-21-2012 05:55 PM

What in the world is 64GB of RAM for?

cho 05-21-2012 06:08 PM

porn

....lots and lots of porn

Psykopathik 05-22-2012 12:25 PM

RAM, not storage space.

fd3 05-22-2012 02:06 PM

Dang i got 16 and thats more than enough LOL

Hondaracer 05-22-2012 03:42 PM

does this really need it's own thread?

there are people in the building/upgrading thread that have almost as good rigs, just not excessive overkill in the video card department

also personally i'm not down with a case full of LED's :/

TOPEC 05-22-2012 04:36 PM

One of a kind G1 "X" edition, once the 2 690's arrive, they will replace the 680's, as the customer does not want 680's, because money.

exactly, probably some idiots who just walk into a computer store and say "give me whatever the best in your shop"

Psykopathik 05-31-2012 07:24 AM

well not every Ferrari owner wants to build their cars themselves like it was a big box of Lego.

twitchyzero 05-31-2012 04:39 PM

exactly...i dont expect everyone with nice mods in their cars to have installed everything.

Not saying screwing fans into your case is a comparable task but you get the idea...no need to hate.

Hehe 05-31-2012 06:31 PM

I left building my own machines when the scene basically changed.

Most geeks today are interested in raw performance that you can build with money: either buy the most expensive parts money can buy or spend ridiculous money on performance parts for marginal better OC.

Back in the days, it's all about creativity, how to achieve highest % of OC with minimum budget, custom cooling solutions, insane case mods... these are lost in the current trend.

That being said, can't stop drooling over these builds... they are like looking V12 being into Civic bodies... :fuckthatshit:

Hondaracer 05-31-2012 08:27 PM

typically i get NCIX to build a rig i part together because they test everything for me, so i dont get it home and fry my ram and HD via static etc

belaud 06-04-2012 05:13 PM

GUESS WHAT THIS IS.

That reminds me of this one time I was shopping at the Burnaby NCIX. While I was waiting for my number to be called, some guy walked in thru the door and yelled "ONE COMPUTER PLEASE."

FerrariEnzo 06-05-2012 05:25 AM

wow... you are able to constantly store games on it... woot... time to max out my ram on my mobo and use this ramdisk!!

are there any side effects or something that one should worry about when using ramdisk??

When you plan to run dual 690s.. you make your case whatever colour you want!

SkinnyPupp 06-06-2012 10:22 AM

If you have dual 690s, you better have three 2560x1600 monitors connected to it, or you are wasting a lot of your dad's corruption money

smoothie. 06-06-2012 12:42 PM
