B18A1 Swap

Hello Guys!

My friend has a 92 Integra with B18A1. I was thinking of buying it from him and swap the motor to my 1992 Civic with stock engine.

First, I wanted to do some test on the engine if it is still fine.
What are tests you can recommend me?

Second, Im wondering what else do I need if Im gonna swap to B18A1. Like mounts and etc?

Thanks for your help Guys! Appreciate it!

If it's in a car run it and drive it, if it's strong and quiet doesn't smell or burn smoke then it's good to go.

I'm pretty sure it would be compression test & leakdown test

What are you going to run for transmission?

Hopefully he is going to run a B16 transmission :suspicious:

I know lol. I wasn't sure if he knew.

Personally, I'd just got B18B1 swap w/ tranny, axles, mounts, ecu.

I remember when I had my b18A1 and blew my LS trans and got my B16 trans JDM one to I was like O.O.....!!

Now I have the opposite B16 engine with B18 trans

Hey Guys!

Yeap, that b18a1 is still in the car.

Honestly, I have no Idea what to use for Transmission.
Can I use the same transmission that comes with that b18a1 as well??

^^^ u can use the tranny but ur gonna need to get tranny mounts... if u get the complete swap off u buddy grab the ecu as well.

To use that trans you need a cable to hydro conversion as well. Also axles and shift linkage from a 94-01 integra.

I would advise against that. Get a Hydro tranny and save yourself some grief. Plus those cable to hydro conversion brackets look like shit on the front of the motor.

Berz out.

Yes, Sir! :)

EDIT: NVM LOL

i would go for b16 tranny for closer ratios and b18c gsr for more all around (more highway top speed a,d stronger synchros)

but you can always use the LStranny, for gas mileage.

just my .02

hydro is the way to go too in my opinion.

good luck
