And you were right, it was pretty meh. Some parts got you jumping, but a lot of it...ehh
.

missChloe 05-28-2012 01:43 PM

Going to see it tomorrow.

Was it at least creepy though? Like stuck with you somewhat?

RecklessNS 05-28-2012 01:49 PM

Nah if your referring to like leaving the theater and going home to turn on every light in your house at night like I did after paranormal activity, then nah its not like that.

A more appropriate response (based on your avatar) would be..."nooo....nooo..."/spanish nanny family guy

missChloe 05-28-2012 04:08 PM

^lol! omg! so true!

@RecklessNS Which Paranomal Activity are you comparing this to. The first, second or third??

RecklessNS 05-28-2012 06:02 PM

I wasn't comparing paranormal activity to this, it just listed down my experience with a movie that had stuck with me. but if I were to compare it to one, I would have to say this movie reminded me of the second one.
you'll see why when you watch it just cause some scenes in this movie made me jump like the kitchen scene in paranormal activity 2.

but still, I AINT NO PUSSY! gnome saying?

yogenfruz 05-28-2012 08:20 PM

I haven't seen it yet, but the ads kind of turned me off it. I don't know why, but it looks like Hills Have Eyes, just in a new setting...

RacingMetro92 05-28-2012 09:59 PM

Its the classic "silence, silence, silence, LOUD NOISE" freak you out kind of movie. Less creepy, more shit jumps out at you.

I rate the scariness of Paranomal Activity this way

PA 3 > PA 1 > PA 2

So just wanted to see what I am up against.

Thanks for clarifying, now I kind of know what to expect.

I honestly thought it was going to be more aggressive like a 28 Weeks Later type feel. Some parts of the movie had set it up this way (even the preview) I was pretty disappointed in the formula of scare they used too. Chernobyl was a tragedy but the situation the director got and set up for the plot through the preview had great movie written all over it if it was done right. Unfortunately they missed the boat on executing great ideas like these. I was frankly disappointed.

Glad to have not paid for it with the advance screening ticket.

Nabatron 05-29-2012 02:21 PM

yeah the movie wasn't great at all...had a few jumpy parts but nothing to brag about. Barely could see the mutated people, not enough killing/gore just over all a mediocre movie at best.

Nabatron 05-29-2012 02:22 PM

btw watched The Crazies lastnight on netflix and tried to compare chernobyl diaries and I would say The Crazies was a better movie by far.

Mr.Money 05-29-2012 10:45 PM

6/10

okay horror movie, nothing to put you on edge.....Retarded ending, they didn't know how to to end it

Destephicon 06-13-2012 07:01 PM

This movie looks cool due to the premise.

kwy 06-13-2012 07:06 PM

Jump scares are the easiest and cheapest way to scare a crowd. It's the trademark of a shitty movie.

AzNightmare 06-23-2012 09:42 AM

I hate movies with jump scares, which is why I never watch horror genre.
I don't mind movies with psychological fear though
